Claribel Santiago-Severson

I have been creating art since I was a child. I decided to pursue a career in which I could utilize my artistic interests.
I began designing professionally in 1996, and decided to attend college to complete a degree in graphic design. I have a bachelor of fine arts with a major in graphic design.

Because of my love for words and writing I have written articles, essays and short stories. My first attempt at writing was at the age of 9 years old, when I wrote and directed a play. I continued to write for many years and in 2006 began collecting my poetry into a book titled Rhythms of My Mind.
I self published in 2007, which was a life long goal.

Among other things, I enjoy painting and drawing and have sold some of my print reproductions and paintings. But I have mostly pursued these as a hobby.

My passion for people and stories led me to pursue a masters degree. In 2008 I decided to return to school to pursue a degree in counseling. It is an ongoing process to obtain licensing. However, today I practice both my passion for design and counseling. I also integrate art into my counseling practice, which helps clients engage in a process of self discovery.
